George graduated from Noblesville High School in 1965. He played football, basketball and ran track. He held the track record until recently. He studied architectural drawing at Vincennes University and at Ball State University. He was in the Army National Guard for seven years during the Vietnam era and was able to participate in Honor Flight 14, April 2023, with his son as guardian. Over the years he was co-owner of a gun store and the owner of three (3) Parson-Bishop Service franchises, while serving as Vice-President for the corporate office. George retired from full-time work in 2012, but continued part-time employment with Five Star Security Systems. George will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his infinite love for the Cubs. He enjoyed music, hunting waterfowl, fishing, and coaching youth sports. He was a captivating speaker and could think on his feet with quick spontaneous wit. George was active in St. John the Baptist (SJB) summer socials, loving to auction off sports paraphernalia from well-known sports’ players, and famous celebrities. He continually gave his time in maintenance for SJB school and playground.

He was a member of the Living Legacy Society and was honored as a Brute recipient (along with his wife, Lynda) in 1997 - the highest award given for service in the Diocese of Evansville. Family was important to George, including his furbaby, Lily, who brought great joy and comfort to his life. Edwin Allen Englert

Edwin Allen Englert, 55 of St. Wendel, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by his family, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer.

Ed was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 21, 1968, to Edwin A. and Leona (Schapker) Englert. Ed was a graduate of Reitz High School class of 1987, and took automotive vocational classes at Central, but Ed had a natural mechanical ability that served him very well through his entire life. Ed started working at Muensterman’s Auto Services at the age of 16 and worked there for 30 plus years. He could fix anything and spent a lot of time building things. Some of his famous creations were a golf cart 3-wheeler mash up called the Cart wheeler, a motorized picnic table, many Christmas parade floats, and a whole lot of Golf Carts and other small engine contraptions like an Opryland Tin Lizzie.

Ed also had many boats over the years including the Mach 1, the notorious Ship of Fools boat trip boat… The Ship of Fools has lost its captain. Ed’s experience with boats doesn’t stop there, he was also very instrumental in putting on the Tri State Boat and Sport Show, where he went from helping with set up and tear down to being in charge of it. Speaking of the Boat and Sport Show, that’s where he married his beloved wife of 21 years, Susan. He also was an avid member of the Outboard Boating Club of Evansville, not only working the work parties, but also on the Board of Directors many times.

Ed was very passionate about many things, charity was certainly one of them, from the Christmas Golf Cart, ATV, Jeep Parade that he not only helped organize but helped create it. He and his friends have put the parade on for 9 years now. Ed not only helped with other fundraisers but usually was in charge. whether it was a meat cook, making sausage, half pots, raffles, you name it – he did it.

Speaking of passions… you cannot leave out the Hydroplane Race Boat… Man was he in his element. He was crew chief of the E181 5-liter Behrman Racing Boat, getting all the bugs out of it and turning it into a fire breathing 125 MPH Beast.

Not to be a one trick pony, Ed was also a carpenter, remodeling not only his house but also building a barroom on the back of his shop, affectionately called the Mullet (business in the front, party in the back).

But you cannot even begin to talk about Ed’s passion without talking about the apple of his eye. Like many men, fatherhood just changed Ed. He became nearly solely focused on him and Susan raising Mayli from a young brat into the beautiful young lady she is today. Man was he proud of her. She shares his wit, intelligence, and work ethic.

Amie Joe Roach

On the evening of February 23, 2024, Amie Jo Roach (Anderson), 47, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away while surrounded by family and dear friends at Deaconess Gateway Hospital after a 26 month fiercely courageous fight with head and neck cancer.

Amie was known by many as a dedicated and influential career woman, badass boss, and mentor after spending 25 years with Lochmueller Group, Inc. Her closest friends and coworkers describe her as kind, caring, dependable, supportive, compassionate, spunky, and full of badassery. Her four children see her as a woman with integrity who was accepting, supportive, and elegantly fierce. Her husband describes her as many things but the most important description of her was that she was full of class and grace.

Amie was born on August 26, 1976, to Julie McIntosh. After graduating from Castle High School in 1994, she went on to study accounting at the University of Southern Indiana, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1998.

After graduation, Amie landed her first job at Harding, Shymanski & Company, PC and worked there until accepting a position at Bernardin Lochmueller and Associates (currently known as Lochmueller Group) where along the way she earned her CMA and CDA. She eventually worked her way up the ladder to be named Chief Financial Officer and Vice President. Amie was responsible for managing the accounting, human resources and corporate administration staff. She focused on management and analytics for all corporate finances. Her over 25 years of experience with the company allowed her to help lead improved financial management processes including enhanced budget forecasting and financial reporting.

In March of 2010, Amie met Chris at Archie & Clyde’s. They immediately hit it off and secretly married 3 years later, on Dec 26, 2013, at the Warrick County Courthouse. They then had a wedding on April 26, 2014, at Rolling Hills Country Club. Amie and Chris celebrated their secret anniversary on December 26th each year, without raising suspicions from their family and friends by calling it their ‘date day’. If you knew them, you also knew their beautiful love story.

Amie enjoyed golfing, listening to country music, going on beach vacations, attending many Jimmy Buffett concerts around the country and living the Parrothead lifestyle with Chris, late night dance parties in the kitchen, and doing practically anything with her children.

Amie was a member of First Christian Church of Newburgh, joyfully participating and attending services that welcomed her and her family members for years, until the church made the decision to no longer be accepting of certain members of her family. At that point, Amie no longer attended FCC and began praising God in her own ways. She enjoyed reading her Bible while making notes in her journal and praying often. That experience only made her faith stronger.

Amie was loved by many friends, family, and coworkers near and far. Her wish is for her loved ones to continue living their lives going forward and to celebrate her extraordinary life on Saturday by laughing, crying (just a little!), and finding peace and support in one another.

Recently, she and Patrick moved to the countryside of Rockport, Ind., to spend their golden years making memories, enjoying life, and watching wildlife. Evenings were spent sitting around the fire, watching the hummingbirds, and enjoying nature.

Wherever she went, one would find a Diet Pepsi in one hand and a Hershey’s bar in the other.

She attempted every craft under the sun and found her element in diamond dot painting. You could say she was our “Diamond Dottie.” When she wasn’t busy enjoying nature, she could be found playing board and card games and reading novels.
