First Cruise-In is big success!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support Chemo Buddies Saturday for our first Car Show Fundraiser. Thanks to you we were able to raise $4500! That is HUGE in our world as we don’t receive any grants or outside funding.

In this case, when Kevin Bakel offered to organize a car show (he has his own classic car and loves the shows) we were intrigued as we had no insight into that world. So Kevin and his lovely wife, Angie (plus friends and family) took on the challenge and were on a mission.

We had good weather and lots of lots of fun! Many people told us it was a great car show!

The two highest selling items of our silent auction were a similar story. Adam Lee custom made our corn hole boards which sold for $210, and Debra Wyza hand quilted a cancer ribbon quilt that sold for $315. Ordinary people using their own skills to make a tremendous difference in the life of the Chemo Buddy program, and therefore the lives of our patients.

Thank you to the many people who donated items, the Lion’s Club, the Pizza Revolution, Johnny Kincaid, Bill the Clown, the army that worked the event, the entire Bakel family, and the faithful loyal and true Chemo Buddies volunteers. May God Bless YOU all for your kindness, service and generosity.
